Our collections tell the story of Scotland: its land, people and culture. What influence has the world had on Scotland, and Scotland on the world?
All the collections have tales to tell; Viking brooches, Pictish stones, ancient chessmen and Queen Mary’s clarsach. Connect with Dolly the sheep, design a robot, test drive a Formula One car or blast off into outer space. Part of the Victorian Royal Museum is now closed untill 2011 while 16 new galleries, a learning centre, two hands-on discovery areas and better visitor facilities are installed.
